Resolutions: 2013
I only had one resolution last year (and it was the first time I ever made a resolution- or, rather, a serious one- previous resolutions of “I resolve to not start smoking” apparently don’t count) and I actually followed through and did that shit. This year I’m pushing the envelope. More resolutions. More awesome.
- Bring my lunch to work Monday through Thursday and document said lunch to inspire creativity. My hope is that I’d be too embarrassed to post a pic of not-pretty food to my tumblr/twitter/facebook followers so I’ll always be making something fabulous;
- Debt Zero: https://www.readyforzero.com/ For my credit card debt. Ain’t nothing I’m going to be able to do to get rid of my student loans any time soon- and my cc debt is astronomical as it is;
- Last year I purged destructive, unnecessary, awful people from my life. This year I’m purging things (although some of that happened in 2012 too): http://www.becomingminimalist.com/; and
- Run, run, run. I want to log 450 miles this year. That’s about 1.25 miles a day. I can do that.
All told, I expect the above to make me a happier, healthier, lovelier person. And I think it’s all mostly attainable. I don’t expect perfection on my part, because that’s just silly, but I do expect to hold myself accountable. No drinking a glass of wine and eating cheese when I could easily go pound out a quick two miles. Run…then have the glass of wine and cheese. Otherwise what’s the point of all that running?
New Years Resolution Lunch: 8 January 2013. Chili with homemade cornbread and sour cream.
